About company

Activities of CTL Haldex S.A. focuses on the acquisition and technological processing of industrial waste for the recovery or enrichment of valuable raw materials.

The company mainly deals in the technological recovery of hard coal from coal waste resulting from the direct production of hard coal mines, processing plants and raw materials lying on waste heaps. The modern technology that CTL Haldex has at its disposal since 2016 allows for a systematic development of the scope of activity and gives a lot of new opportunities to create useful products and provide waste treatment services, also from the energy, metallurgy and chemical industries.

CTL Haldex S.A. in 2005, in Sosnowiec, it launched the first professional installation based on the French Tercharnor technology for the recovery of hard coal from the mining waste stream.

In 2005-2015, the first CTL Haldex plant processed 7.5 million tonnes of post-mining waste and recovered more than 700,000 tonnes from them of full-value fine coal for commercial power engineering purposes.

During the first 10 years of processing activity, the assumed ecological effect and efficiency of hard coal recovery from the mining waste stream in the range of 8-9% was obtained.

New CTL Haldex technologies

CTL Haldex S.A. has had a modern multitechnical installation in Sosnowiec since 2016, which has the capacity to process raw materials up to 1.55 million tonnes / year. The technological line is equipped with a node for the initial preparation of raw material, crushing installations, desludging installations, coal dressing in cyclones with heavy liquid as well as desilting and enriching of de-silted silt using a dense media separator. In addition, the installation is equipped with additional technological nodes, i.e. a pelleting node, a coal mixing station and a binder adding and blending station. One of the most interesting logistics solutions in the CTL Haldex plant is the system for receiving, storing and feeding technological charge for processing. It is based on a comprehensive rail-road system as well as a product distribution and loading system, thanks to which high logistic efficiency of the plant has been achieved.

The company also has independent installations for granulation of raw materials: Eirich 29 with a capacity of 40-60 Mg / hour and Eirich 22 with a capacity of 25-35 Mg / hour, which gives operational possibilities to provide mobile services.

Thanks to this solution, a direct economic benefit was obtained from shortening the logistics of transporting processed raw materials and the possibility of production processes at the place indicated by the customer.

It is worth emphasizing that the new CTL Haldex S.A. plant has its own independent rail and road connection with S1 and a universal space for storage yards for raw material storage and transhipment in the following system: wagon – yard – car – yard – wagon.

Ecology

The activity of CTL Haldex S.A. is a successfully completed business idea, but also an ecological one. All implementations have a great importance for the recovery of valuable raw materials from the waste stream, but also significantly improve the state of the environment.

CTL Haldex through its activity effectively counteracts many negative environmental phenomena – that’s why they are supported by the Provincial and National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management:

  • prevents the accumulation of waste that transforms the earth’s surface, blocks the possibility of its economic use and interferes with the natural environment through land degradation.
  • prevents the occurrence of fire hazards in waste heaps and coal waste spoil tips due to the removal of a significant part of the organic substance in the form of coal from waste.
  • prevents wasting valuable energy fuel in the form of hard coal going to the stream of extractive or processing waste.
  • prevents wasting other valuable raw materials and materials contained in mining waste, which are still possible for economic use.
